Stormers call for reinforcements

SUPER RUGBY INJURY REPORT: The Stormers have been forced to place an emergency phone call to Cape Town to send in reinforcements after two players suffered injuries in their 24-57 defeat to the Crusaders.

Both Dan du Plessis and Cobus Wiese are on their way home due to shoulder injuries and will be surgically assessed in Cape Town.

Lock John Schickerling and loose forward Kobus van Dyk will join theStormers in New Zealand as injury cover.

The other casualty from Christchurch is lock Chris van Zyl who has been ruled out for a week with concussion.

Schickerling and van Dyk, who both made their Super Rugby debut for the Stormers in 2016, will join the team in Dunedin - where they are preparing for their clash with the Highlanders on Friday.

Schickerling is returning from a minor ankle injury, whilst Van Dyk has starred for Maties in the Varsity Cup this year.
