NEWS: Chiefs flyhalf Aaron Cruden will miss his team's clash against the Reds on Saturday due to illness.

According to stuff.co.nz, Cruden did not travel with the team to New Plymouth and he did not take part in Friday's captain's run after falling ill on Thursday.

With Cruden out, either Damian McKenzie or Stephen Donald will shift to the playmaker role. At this stage, Donald seems to be the more likely replacement in the No.10 jersey.

Cruden will head to French club Montpellier on a three-year deal at the end of this season.
