Midfield headaches for Chiefs

Sam McNicol and Stephen Donald are both unlikely to feature in Friday's clash due to concussion. Both players left the field during their team's 24-31 loss to the Crusaders in Suva last weekend.

All Black centre Charlie Ngatai (concussion), is the biggest concern for the Chiefs as he will again be unavailable for selection this week.

Ngatai missed the match against the Crusaders after returning to action a week earlier against the Reds. The clash against the Aussie outfit was Ngatai's first in a year.

However, he felt headaches at a subsequent training session and is back playing a waiting game.

"Charlie's had about four days symptom-free," said Chiefs head coach Dave Rennie told NZ Newswire. "But we're unlikely to use him this week. We want to be really sure.

"In the end, we'll take advice from the medics around that.

"We just want to be really cautious around it. So we're not going to rush him back in."
