Pollard out of trip to Shark Tank

Pollard was named to start on the bench for the South African 'A' team that beat the French Barbarians in Soweto last Friday – after having been sidelined with an ankle injury for the past two months.

However, the flyhalf was withdrawn from the matchday squad, with SA A-team coach Johan Ackermann confirming that Pollard suffered another "minor strain" to his ankle after training last Tuesday.Pollard out of trip to Shark Tank

The Bulls medical team confirmed on Monday that Pollard is still following his rehabilitation programme and won't feature in the Round 15 encounter in the Shark Tank.

Jamba Ulengo and Travis Ismaiel have returned to selected practice sessions, but – like Pollard – they will not be available this week.

Other players on the long-term injury list include Bok loose forward Jacques Potgieter, who will not be available for the remainder of the Super Rugby season – as he is still showing symptoms of post-concussion syndrome.

Hanro Liebenberg suffered a complex ankle ligament injury before the international break and will not be available for the next eight weeks.

Edgar Marutlulle injured his ankle while playing in the world club 10s and underwent surgery on Monday.

He will not be available for six to eight weeks.

Martin Dreyer underwent surgery two weeks ago.

Sibahle Maxwane and Jade Stighling injured themselves during the domestic provincial competition against the Golden Lions last week.

Maxwane sustained his second concussion of the season, while Stighling fractured his mandible.

Both players will be on the sidelines for six weeks.

Johnny Kotze and Arno Botha are still following their rehabilitation programmes, while Ulrich Beyers will be sidelined for another two weeks due to a calf strain.
