Taumalolo disciplinary hearing verdict
Mon, 08 Mar 2010 10:19
Chiefs loosehead prop Arizona (Sona) Taumalolo has been found guilty of a dangerous tackle during the Super 14 Chiefs v Reds match at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton on Friday but no further action will be taken against him.
Taumalolo was cited by SANZAR Citing Commissioner Steve Hinds for a dangerous tackle on Reds flyhalf Quade Cooper, 11 minutes into the first half of the game.
Judicial Officer Peter Hobbs on Monday considered evidence from the player and from video recordings, and heard submissions from Taumalolo’s representative.
As a result, Hobbs deemed that while Taumalolo’s tackle breached the laws of the game, his overall culpability did not warrant any further penalty in this case.
