Phil Waugh will set a new milestone for New South Wales Rugby when he runs out to face the Lions in Round Five of the Super 14 at the Sydney Football Stadium on Friday.
Waugh will make his 119th appearance for New South Wales, passing the previous record of 118 matches set by Chris Whitaker.
He will also pass Whitaker for the most appearances as NSW captain with his 41st appearance.
There will be 7,500 Phil Waugh masks given away to spectators on the way into the ground.
Prop Al Baxter will also reach a milestone with his 107th NSW cap, taking him past David Lyons into fourth on the all-time list.
Only Waugh, Whitaker and Matt Burke (115) have more appearances for the state.
The early Super 14 encounter between the Chiefs and the Crusaders will be shown inside the ground.
