Cipriani may quit Rebels for soccer

Mercurial English flyhalf Danny Cipriani may quit the newly formed Melbourne Rebels to start playing soccer.
According to foxsports.com.au English Premier League club Fulham has reportedly offered Cipriani a trial on July 7.
While Cipriani has signed with the Rebels, his disillusionment with the code may see him switch to soccer.
Cipriani is set to start a two-year contract with the new Super 15 Australian franchise in September.
The 22-year-old, who was an elite youth footballer, completed trials with both Queens Park Rangers and Reading.
However, Rugby Union was his code of choice.
Cipriani represented England at Under-16 level, before bursting into the senior ranks in 2007.
But the talented flyhalf has struggled to hold onto an England jersey.
He narrowly missed out on selection for the 2007 World Cup and wasted a call-up to the England squad for the 2008 Six Nations Cup after being axed for inappropriate behaviour.
England manager Martin Johnson further frustrated Cipriani's representative aspirations when he said he would not select the Wasps player if he chose to play in the Southern Hemisphere.
Despite Cipriani's deal with the Rebels appearing to hang in the balance, the franchise insists that he will join them in September.
