Highlander heads for the Exeter hills

Exeter Chiefs have captured the signature of experienced centre Jason Shoemark from Super 14 outfit the Highlanders.
The 29-year-old will play in the NPC for Hawke's Bay this season before making the move abroad in November, and linking up with his new teammates at Exeter.
There are several centre candidates ahead of Shoemark in the pecking order for a place in the All Blacks team, so a move to the Premiership will offers a fresh challenge.
"He could easily be regarded as one of the best midfield players not to win a full cap for the All Blacks and I would like to think that during the next two seasons, Jason will bring the leadership and competitive qualities to our team that will be vital in the Premiership," Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter said.
"He is currently at the top of his game having played a full part in the Super 14 with the Highlanders this year and earning a call-up to the All Blacks squad last season."
Baxter added: "Anybody who has followed the Premiership over the last few seasons will know how physical the middle of the pitch has become and winning that battle will be a key area to our success.
"I know there has been an element of frustration with our supporters waiting to see the additions we will make to the squad but I would hope that the signing of a player like Jason Shoemark shows that we are taking our time bringing the right players with the right qualities to Exeter."
