Jaco and Jano back for Lions

Wed, 16 Apr 2008 15:19

The Auto & General Lions team have been boosted by the return of Jaco Pretorius and Jano Vermaak for their Super 14 clash with the Waratahs in Sydney on Saturday.

Coach Eugene Eloff rested Vermaak last week against the Crusaders but has recalled the form No.9 for the 'Tahs match.

Pretorius missed the Crusaders clash because of injury but is fit to start alongside Doppies la Grange in the midfield.

The forward pack shows only one change with prop JC Janse van Rensburg replacing Ross Geldenhuys, who takes his place on the bench.

Auto & General Lions: 15 Louis Ludik, 14 Dusty Noble, 13 Jaco Pretorius, 12 Doppies la Grange, 11 Ryno Benjamin, 10 Jaco van Schalkwyk, 9 Jano Vermaak, 8 Willem Alberts, 7 Joe van Niekerk, 6 Cobus Grobbelaar (captain), 5 Gerhard Mostert, 4 Dewald Senekal, 3 JC Janse van Rensburg, 2 Willie Wepener, 1 Heinke van der Merwe,
Replacements: 16 Ethienne Reynecke, 17 Ross Geldenhuys, 18 Franco van der Merwe, 19 Wilhelm Koch, 20 Chris Jonck, 21 Rudi Vogt, 22 Jannie Boshoff.
