Moore aiming for pack to 'Bloem'

Wed, 30 Apr 2008 10:38

Highlanders coach Glenn Moore has gone for a recipe of four changes to his side, who face the Cheetahs in a Super 14 clash in Bloemfontein on Friday.

Moore been forced into two changes in the back row, but has also decided on a rotation policy in certain positions.

Vice-captain Jimmy Cowan is rotated to the bench for this match, and Toby Morland takes over at scrumhalf.

The rest of the backline is unchanged from last weekend's match against the Stormers.

There are three changes amongst the forwards, with the injured Steven Setephano and Alando Soakai making way for flanks Tim Boys and Adam Thomson. Captain Craig Newby moves from openside flank to No.8 to accommodate the change.

Lock Hoani MacDonald comes back into the side at the expense of Hayden Triggs, who gets a rest on the bench.

A late call will be made on the fitness of hooker Jason Macdonald, with David Hall on stand-by.

Highlanders: 15 Paul Williams, 14 Matt Saunders, 13 Brett Mather, 12 Johnny Leota, 11 Fetu'u Vainikolo, 10 Mike Delany, 9 Toby Morland, 8 Craig Newby (captain), 7 Tim Boys, 6 Adam Thomson, 5 Tom Donnelly, 4 Hoani MacDonald, 3 Clint Newland, 2 David Hall/Jason Macdonald, 1 Jamie Mackintosh.
