Muller cleared for Crusaders clash

Thu, 01 May 2008 11:14

Sharks Captain Johann Muller has been cleared to start for the Sharks and will take his place at lock for Friday's must-win Super 14 clash against the Crusaders in Christchurch.

He came through training on Thursday without any problems and is fit to lead a Sharks team that has been stung by defeat and wants no more.

"This hasn't been our best tour ever," admitted the Sharks captain, "especially against Australian opposition."

"The boys are really excited for this match.

"It's the last one before we head off home and we know we need to do the business against the Crusaders," added the skipper.

With Muller starting at lock, AJ Venter will wear the No.7 jersey and Jean Deysel will revert to the bench.

Sharks (revised): 15 Stefan Terblanche, 14 Odwa Ndungane, 13 Waylon Murray, 12 Francois Steyn, 11 JP Pietersen, 10 Ruan Pienaar, 9  Rory Kockott, 8 Ryan Kankowski, 7 AJ Venter , 6 Jacques Botes, 5 Johann Muller (captain), 4 Albert van den Burg , 3 BJ Botha, 2 Craig Burden, 1 Beast Mtawarira.
Replacements: 16 Skipper Badenhorst, 17 Jannie du Plessis, 18 Jean Deysel, 19 Keegan Daniel, 20 Andries Strauss, 21 Henno Mentz, 22 Adrian Jacobs.
