Blake cited for dangerous tackle

Sat, 03 May 2008 01:29

Reds prop Rodney Blake has been cited for a dangerous tackle in Friday's 22-35 Super 14 loss against the Blues at Suncorp Stadium.

He will face a SANZAR (South Africa, New Zealand and Australia Rugby) Judicial Hearing at Queensland Rugby headquarters at Ballymore next Tuesday.

Citing Commissioner Tim Harland cited Blake late on Friday under Law 10.4 (e) after viewing the match video.

Blake, who had come on as a second half replacement, allegedly made a dangerous tackle on Blues open side flank Daniel Braid in the 59th minute of the match.

SANZAR Judicial Officer Paul Tully agreed to a Reds' team management request for an adjournment of the hearing until Tuesday.
