Latham's comeback short-lived

Chris Latham's comeback was short-lived as he cried off with an injured shoulder after just 15 minutes of the Reds' clash with the Crusaders in Brisbane on Saturday.
The Reds fullback, who had a shaky start to the game with several of his clearance kicks being charged down, sustained the injury in an attempted tackle on Crusaders wing Kade Poki as he scored the opening try of the match.
Latham went too high, however, hurting his right shoulder. He stayed on the field for a few minutes after the incident but was clearly in pain. After a sequence of handling errors in quick succession he was taken off.
Latham last played more than a month ago. He was returning to action after recovering from medial ligament damage to his knee sustained against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on April 5.
Latham was ready to make a comeback against the Blues last week but was advised to give his knee another week to regain full strength
and stability.
At this stage it is not clear whether the injury is serious enough to prevent Latham from playing in his 100th Super Rugby match against the Waratahs next week.
