Sale Sharks went down to Saint-Affrique to play Perpignan in an Armand Vaquerin Challenge match on Wednesday and drew 24-all.
Neither club had a full-strength side.
Perpignan scored first and led 19-5 at half-time, but the Sharks came back strongly in the second half - each side scoring four tries and two conversions.
The score was 24-17 to the Catalans when Rory Lamont scored his second try, which Luke McAlister converted.
