French Top 14 team Perpignan's South African centre Steve Meyer will be out for at least two months after undergoing an operation on a dislocated shoulder.
Meyer sustained the injury during Perpignan's 5-3 victory over Montpellier on September 20, and underwent surgery on Monday.
Perpignan have made a decent start to the season, and are currently fifth on the Top 14 standings.
Meyer progressed from the Natal Wildebeest to the Sharks in 2006, before moving to France to join Perpignan in October 2006.
