Ursache has been suspended for one week after being cited for a dangerous tackle during their 11-38 defeat to France on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old is one of the team's most experienced players with over 60 caps, since making his debut in 2004.

He was cited by the match's Independent Citing Commissioner James Absaloms.

Ursache, who plays in the French Top 14 for Oyonnax, denied he committed the offence.

However, the enquiry found otherwise.

"Having conducted a detailed review of all the evidence available, including all video camera angles and additional evidence from the player, and submissions from his legal representative, the Judicial Officer Adam Casselden [Australia] upheld the citing under Law 10.4(e) for dangerous tackling," read a statement from the enquiry.

"With respect to the sanction, the Judicial Officer deemed the offence to be at the lower end of the scale of seriousness, which has an entry point of two weeks.

"However, taking into account mitigating factors – including his excellent disciplinary record and the absence of aggravating factors – the player was suspended for a period of one week.

"In the context of the tournament a week equates to one match.

"Therefore Ursache is suspended for Romania’s match against Ireland on Sunday, 27 September. He is free to resume playing on 28 September."

Ursache will be available for selection for the final two pool games against Canada and Italy.

However, he can appeal the decision within 48 hours of it being delivered.
