Beautiful days ahead says Creevy

Creevy said the mood in the Argentine dressing room was "very sad" after Sunday's 15-29 semifinal defeat at the hands of Australia. But the hooker predicted plenty of happy days ahead for his country, who have made huge strides since they joined the Rugby Championship in 2012.

"It's a very good starting point. I feel very happy that rugby is progressing in Argentina and there are beautiful things ahead," the 30-year-old Creevy said. "The team is here to stay and will carry on playing to coach Daniel Hourcade's plan: his offensive game. That's the way to stay at the top of the world game."

Argentina played their part in putting in one of the most open and exciting games of the tournament, in front of a large Argentine contingent in the 80,000 Twickenham crowd. The Pumas have played attacking rugby at the tournament and have clearly gained from playing regular games in the Championship against the Southern Hemisphere powers, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.

"Everyone will agree that we should be very proud of this team. They gave it their all, they left empty," coach Hourcade said. "The message should be that you have to give it your all in everything you do.

"This team has always tried. There were many problems today but I think we are on the right path. It is a learning curve; we review the mistakes we made and our legacy will be the way we play the game."

Hourcade was holding back tears in the last few minutes of the game.

Asked about his emotions, he said: "The players were very committed and engaged. They never gave up. We feel a huge pain, we were very emotional. I was feeling for the players but I feel very proud of them."
