NEWS: Argentina has officially announced its bid to host the 2027 World Cup.

The announcement from the Buenos Aires government came following talks between Argentina Rugby Union (UAR) President Mauricio Macri and top World Rugby officials including President Bill Beaumont.

The meeting took place after Argentina's 17-36 defeat against the All Blacks in Buenos Aires at the weekend.

The next World Cup will be held in Japan in 2019.

France, Ireland and South Africa are candidates to host the 2023 edition.
