City Guide: Cardiff

While the 2015 World Cup primary host is England, there will be a few matches played in Wales- with the Walsh nation being real passionate over their sports.

Cardiff is a young, vivid and beautiful place which crosses a footbridge in flower filled Bute Park. You will most likely see fly-fishermen wading knee deep in the Taff River on one side- with the view of Cardiff’s office blocks on the other side.

Rugby is a big in Wales- with the mighty Millennium Stadium at the heart of the city and minutes away from the train station.

The Cardiff Central railway station is the largest station in Wales- with seven platforms that 10million passengers pass every year.

The millennium Stadium has hosted 11 football matches in the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Most of the shopping is done in the city centre around Queen Street and St. Mary Street – with a large suburban retail parks located in Cardiff Bay.

The Castle Quarter which is the commercial area in the north of the city that includes some of Cardiff’s Edwardian and Victorian arcades- with Cardiff being the sixth best city in the UK for shopping which was done by a poll in November 2009.
