Captain's profile: Adriaan Coetzee

The big No.8 has been part of his school’s first team for the past three years now and has met Outeniqua plenty of times on the rugby field.

"We expect them to play a very expansive game, running the ball even from their own 22m. A high risk, high reward type of game," said Coetzee.

"Outeniqua has been dominating the last couple of years with our last win coming in 2010.

"My message to the team was that they should win the ball, keep the ball and win the game.

Coetzee believes discipline and hard work is the key to success and it comes as no surprise that this is also his captain's philosophy as well.

"I am proud to be captain and besides representing SWD at the Academy Week, the highlight of my career is representing my school's first team.

"My strengths as a player and captain is leadership and vision on attack," he added.

Coetzee's plans after school is to study winemaking at Stellenbosch.
