Wallaby captain cited

Wallaby captain James Horwill has been cited for stamping or trampling against the British & Irish Lions.

Horwill is alleged to have made illegal use of his boot on Lions lock, Alun Wyn Jones, in the opening Test of the three-match series in Brisbane on Saturday.

The B&I Lions won the match 23-21.

Horwill has been cited under Law 10.4 (b): a player must not stamp or trample on an opponent.

The alleged incident, which occurred in the third minute, was referred to the citing commissioner by the British & Irish Lions.

Horwill will now appear at a judicial hearing in Melbourne on Sunday.

The Lions play the Rebels in Melbourne on Tuesday, before the second Test between the Wallabies and the Lions in the same city next Saturday.
