Scotland get their wing clipped

British and Irish Lions wing Sean Maitland will miss Scotland's Calcutta Cup clash with England at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Maitland departed injured during the first half of Sunday’s Six Nations match against Ireland in Dublin and has been ruled out of the weekend’s game.

Scottish Rugby's Head of Performance Medical, Paul McGinley, said: "Sean suffered a concussion as well as injury to his right leg yesterday. He will be subject to further investigation today at Spire Murrayfield hospital and will be assessed later by consultant surgeon Graham Lawson.

"We also have a number of injuries at this juncture which will impact on availability to train at the start of this week but we are optimistic that players will recover in time for the England game.”
