Bad break for Bakkies

Springbok lock Bakkies Botha faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he suffered a fractured forearm in Toulon's 10-23 Top 14 loss to Brive on Saturday.

The World Cup-winning veteran was forced off 11 minutes into the match at Stade Amedee-Domenech and was replaced by All Black Ali Williams.

He is expected to be out for at least six weeks.

The European Cup champions are in lowly seventh place on the Top 14 standings, 10 points behind log leaders Stade Francais, who usurped Clermont thanks to a 32-6 bonus-point win over Castres on Friday.
