Boks return to successful venue

The Springboks will return to the scene of their 2007 World Cup triumph for the first time in more than six years when they play France at the Stade de France in Paris on November 23.

This encounter, the final match of South Africa's year-end tour, will be the first Test against France in Paris since 2005.

The French Rugby Federation confirmed the venue for this Test on Friday.

Although they famously won the Webb Ellis Cup at the Stade de France in 2007, South Africa's last four Tests in France against Les Bleus ended in defeat.

The last time the Springboks beat the French on their home turf, was in 1997.

The Springboks' three-Test trip starts against Six Nations champions Wales in Cardiff on Saturday, November 9.

The Boks' second Test on the tour, against Scotland at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, will take place on Sunday, November 17 and the final encounter will be in Paris on Saturday, November 23.

South Africa's year-end tour:

Saturday, November 9: v Wales, Millennium Stadium, Cardiff – 17.30 (19.30 SA time)

Sunday, November 17: v Scotland, Murrayfield, Edinburgh – 15.00 (17.00 SA time)

Saturday, November 23: v France, Stade de France, Paris – 21,00 (22.00 SA time)
