Palisson out of France tour

Toulon and French wing Alexis Palisson has withdrawn from the French tour of New Zealand next month with a hand injury.

The flyer from the newly-crowned European champions said: "I can confirm my withdrawal. I need to have an operation on a finger of my left hand."

Palisson has not played for France since the 2010 Six Nations and was brought back by French coach Phillipe Saint-Andre .

The 25-year old wing has been capped 20 times for France.

Marc Andreu of Castres will replace Palisson in the French 35-man strong squad to tour New Zealand.

Toulon take on Castres in the French Top 14 final at the Stade de France on June 1 before the squad gets on the plane for their tour.

The French were boosted recently by the news that hooker Benjamin Kayser will be available for their tour after he picked up an injury in Clermonts Top 14 semifinal loss to Castres.
