Stormers Bok off to La Rochelle

Springbok Peter Grant is again heading abroad after the Super Rugby season.

He has signed a two-year deal with newly promoted French club La Rochelle.

La Rochelle announced the signing of All Black Jason Eaton, along with Australian Alofa Alofa and Grant – all on two-year deals.

Lock Eaton, 31, has 17 caps for the All Blacks. He played 80 matches for the Hurricanes during a seven-year spell before joining NTT Shining Arcs in Japan last season.

New Zealand-born wing Alofa, 23, is playing for the Waratahs.

Grant, 29, who has five caps for the Springboks, has played for the Stormers since 2004 and has had a spell in Japan.

* Meanwhile France international back Brice Dulin and Wales international second row forward Luke Charteris were among the new recruits confirmed for next season by Top 14 side Racing Metro.

Dulin, 24, arrives from Castres who lost the Top 14 Final last Saturday to Toulon, while Charteris, 31, joins from relegated Perpignan, where he has played for the past two seasons.

Dulin has 23 caps for France since making his international debut in June 2012.

Charteris has earned 46 caps for Wales in the past ten years.

The club from the outskirts of Paris have also signed Montpellier wing Yoann Audrin, Munster's New Zealand centre Casey Laulala, and Biarritz wing Teddy Thomas.

* Beaten Top 14 finalists Castres unveiled All Black wing Sitiveni Sivivatu and five other players for the 2014/15 season.

The 32-year-old Sivivatu, capped 45 times by New Zealand, signed a three-year contract, having spent the last three seasons at Top 14 rivals Clermont.

Three players were signed from Montpellier: Scottish No.8 Johnnie Beattie (three years), centre Thomas Combezou (one-year loan) and Kiwi prop Paea Fa'anunu (two years).

Prop Yohan Montes (Toulouse) and flyhalf/fullback Julien Dumora (Lyon) were also snapped up, both on two-year deals.
