6NB: Georgia - but only just

In the third round of the European nations Cup, sometimes called the Six nations B, log-leaders Georgia scraped home against Portugal in Lisbon. In the other two matches  Romania smashed Russia and Spain smashed Ukraine.

In the end there was just one point in it on Saturday as the Lelos won 13-12 at the Estádio Universitário in Lisbon, but then they scored the only try of the match.

At half-time Georgia led 10-6 after scoring the only try when Davit Kacharava went over on the stroke of half-time.

Romania vs Russia

The size of the victory is surprising. After all Russia ended above Romania in the last European Nations Cup.

The first half at Arcul de Triumf in Bucharest ended just 9-3 in favour of the home side but in the second half the Oaks scored three tries to run away with the match.

This match is part of Spain’s centenary celebrations.

At half time at Estadio Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Sopain led 14-3.

There was a mass brawl early in the match.

Ruslan Radchuck and Federico Negrillo spent time in the sin bin.
