Aussies sign on for Olympics

Australia's Sevens team received a timely boost with seven of the country's most talented players signing on until the end of 2015 to help lead the country's quest to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Sevens player of the Year Con Foley and fellow Queenslander Nick Malouf, together with Cameron Clark, Jesse Parahi and Peter Schuster from NSW, Victoria's Allan Fa'alava'au and the ACT's Tom Cusack will all continue the journey on the Sevens pathway.

It is welcome news for Australia's Sevens team with the experience and talent amongst these key players set to strengthen the Men's Sevens Olympic qualification process across the next two years.

Other players on current contracts, including Ed Jenkins, Shannon Walker, Pama Fou and Lewis Holland, will be up for renewal from 2014.

The Aussies' Road to Rio is already in full swing with Australia recording a series of scintillating victories to progress to the Cup Final against New Zealand during the opening round of the 2013/2014 IRB Sevens World Series on the Gold Coast in October.

They will look to continue this form in the next World Series round which takes place in Dubai next week – November 29 and 30.
