Blue Bull Botha hamstrung

Blue Bulls loose forward Arno Botha will miss the clash with Western Province at Newlands this weekend due to a hamstring injury.

Blue Bulls team doctor Org Strauss confirmed to this website that the injury, which is an aggravation of a previous strain, will keep the powerful loose forward out of action for at least a week.

"He has got a hamstring strain and he is definitely going to be out for this coming weekend," said Strauss.

The Blue Bulls doctor added that as it is a hamstring that botha has injured before, the medical team will err on the side of caution in his rehabilitation.

"It is worrying because it is obviously not something that is supposed to happen so we will be a bit more conservative with his treatment," he said.

Strauss was happy to report that there are no other injury concerns in the squad, with all of tyhe players who were battling sickness last week back to full fitness in contrast to the disrupted training week they had in the build-up to their victory over the Sharks.

"There are no other serious injuries and all the sick guys, especially Jan Serfontein and Frik Kirsten who missed this last weekend's game because of the flu are all fine," he said.
