Blues face Retallick poser

The Blues will make a call on injured lock Culum Retallick's future in the side within the next two days.

Retallick will undergo surgery on his right knee next week, after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in Super Rugby pre-season training last month.

Coach John Kirwan said they're slowing down on that decision.

"He's getting it operated on next week," Kirwan said.

"We've got a meeting tomorrow [Wednesday] about what we're going to do as far as taking him out of the side and replacements so we'll make those decisions in the next 48 hours."

It is expected that Retallick's surgery will sideline him for most, if not all, of the season.
