Blues on Benji's radar

Benji Marshall's agent has been so impressed by the Blues' latest sales pitch that he is likely to move to Auckland.

The Wests Tigers playmaker has made a fleeting visit to Auckland with his wife and agent Martin Tauber to meet with Blues coach John Kirwan.

Tauber said the Blues have been excellent.

"Everything about the Blues, in terms of their coaching staff under John Kirwan, Andy Dalton, and everything else they've presented to us has been nothing else but first class," the agent said.

Tauber said Marshall will make a decision on his future by Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

However, the Rugby League star, Marshall, said he'd like to play for the Blues and has his eye on making the All Blacks for the 2015 World Cup.

"I always wanted to play for the All Blacks and that dream changed once I'd played rugby league," he told reporters as he left the Auckland airport.

"Coming back to [Rugby] Union and the possibility that might be a reality if I make the transition well enough and play well enough, I'd love the opportunity," he said.

The Blues aren't Marshall's only option, as he's had offers to play rugby in France, Japan and Australia too.

"Preferably I'd like to come here… to play for the All Blacks is a pretty big factor," he said.

Marshall hasn't lived in New Zealand for 13 years and it's not just the fans keen to seen him return.

"I know all my family's pretty excited, it's the most text messages I've had in about three years from all my cousins. It's exciting. Obviously pretty nervous about it but at the same time excited at the prospect of having the opportunity," he said.

His manager, Martin Tauber, said there won't be a money-making stint in Japan first.

The Blues suggest he'll attract about 5000 extra paying punters through the turnstiles.
