Bulls head to Namibia

SHARE

The Bulls will play Namibia in a friendly match in Windhoek on Saturday, June 21, the Blue Bulls Rugby Union has confirmed.

The match will form part of the Bulls' preparations before the Super Rugby tournament resumes in July.

It will also aid the Namibians ahead of their upcoming African qualifying matches for the World Cup next year.

According to the High Performance Manager of the Blue Bulls Company, Xander Janse van Rensburg, the Bulls will travel to Windhoek with their strongest possible team and see the match as very important.

"We will have some players on national duty and not available, which will give us a chance to blood some fringe players," Janse van Rensburg said.

"However, we see this as an excellent opportunity for the team to get some match fitness in ahead of the re-start of Super Rugby.

"We are playing in our away kit [green] and will treat this match with the same intensity as any match in the Super Rugby competition.

"We are very appreciative of the opportunity to play and would like to thank the Namibian Rugby Union for inviting us."

The Bulls will travel to Windhoek on June 18.

* Janse van Rensburg also confirmed that a Blue Bulls team will travel to Port Elizabeth to play the EP Kings on June 20.

The team will consist of Under-21 players and those getting ready for the upcoming Currie Cup competition.
