Bulls lock cited for 'head-but'

Bulls lock Wilhelm Steenkamp has been cited for head-butting Sharks flyhalf Andrew 'Butch' James at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.

Steenkamp is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (a) Punching or Striking when he made contact with James in the 63rd minute at a ruck with his head.

Upon further review of the match footage the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the red card threshold for foul play

Following initial consideration by the SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Jannie Lubbe, Steenkamp will appear at a SANZAR Judicial Hearing.

The Judicial Officer for the hearing will be Mike Heron and the hearing will be held by videoconference at on July 8.
