Burger extends Sarries stay

Namibia captain Jacques Burger has extended his contract with Saracens and is set to return to the playing field soon after recovering from a long-term injury.

The all-action flank has battled his way back from a serious knee injury after undergoing surgery in South Africa last year, and Saracens Director of Rugby Mark McCall said that everyone at the club is keen to see him back to his best.

"Jacques personifies the spirit and physicality of our pack, and we can’t wait to see him back in action, doing what he does best," he said.

Burger signed with Saracens in 2009 and was named the club's player of the year in 2011 when he originally injured his knee.

Despite the injury he led his country at the World Cup in New Zealand before he broke down early in 2012.
