Charteris to miss Six Nations

Welsh lock Luke Charteris was ruled out for the rest of the season on Saturday after rupturing ligaments in his right knee in Perpignan's French Top 14 win over Montpellier.

The 29-year-old Charteris will also miss the 2013 Six Nations where Wales are the defending Grand Slam champions.

Charteris was hurt in the 29th minute of Saturday's game, which his team won 30-19.

He joins a growing Welsh injury list that includes flyhalf Rhys Priestland, who will be out of action for six months because of a ruptured left Achilles tendon, centre Jamie Roberts, who faces six weeks of rest after injuring his elbow and lock Ian Evans, who will spend up to eight weeks on the sidelines due to an ongoing knee injury.
