Cheetahs need to sharpen up

Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske said that his team's finishing let them down in their defeat to the Blue Bulls at Loftus Versveld.

The visitors held on to a slender 5-3 lead going into the half-time break, but slumped to a 26-10 defeat, with the Bulls outscoring them by two tries to one in the second half.

Drotske said that the team's defeat was his team's worst performance this season, as they had simply not taken their opportunities.

“This was definitely our worst match this season and there were many opportunities for us to score points, which we didn't take,” Drotske said.

“We could not finish because we weren't sharp enough and the Bulls defended well in the second half,” he added.

The defeat sees the Cheetahs fall from second position on the standings to fourth, and they will be desperate to bounce back when they host the Golden Lions in Bloemfontein on Friday.
