Cheetahs prop forced to wait

Free State Cheetahs prop Schalk van der Merwe will have to wait until Thursday to hear if he faces ban.

The judgment, following Van der Merwe's disciplinary hearing for a red card in the team's Currie Cup clash against the Blue Bulls last weekend, has been postponed.

The player, who appeared before a SARU judicial committee on Wednesday, received a red card for lifting Blue Bulls fullback Jurgen Visser in a tackle and failing to bring him to the ground safely, which contravened Law 10.4 (j).

Donny Jacobs, who presided over the case due to the unavailability of André Oosthuizen, reserved his judgment until Thursday.
