Cockerill's appeal hearing date set

The appeal against the suspension imposed on Richard Cockerill following his exchange with fourth official Stuart Terheege during the Premiership Final will be heard in London on Monday.

The Leicester Tigers’ Director of Rugby was found guilty of conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Union and/or the Game contrary to RFU Rule 5.12 and handed a nine-match suspension at a disciplinary hearing last month.

Cockerill had pleaded not guilty to the charges of using obscene, inappropriate and/or unprofessional language and behaviour towards Terheege.

The appeal, which is against the sanction only, will take place at the London Bloomsbury Holiday Inn with a panel of Gareth Rees QC (Chair), Jeremy Summers and Julian Morris.
