Davies eyes Boks prize

Welsh centre Jonathan Davies is hoping to hit top form in time for June Test matches against the Springboks as he swaps Scarlets for Clermont Auvergne.

Davies missed three months with a torn pectoral muscle and after returning to the Wales side for their defeat at Twickenham, helped Warren Gatland's team to a 51-3 thrashing of Scotland on Saturday.

Davies is set to join French side Clermont Auvergne at the end of the season before he heads to South Africa with the Wales touring team.

His focus is to finish life at the Scarlets on a high and hopefully to hit the kind of form he managed in the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia.

"I have had three months off and I am ready to go," Davies said.

"We have got a few games left with the Scarlets and I want to make sure my time at the Scarlets finishes on a good note.

"Just after January I went back with the Wales coaches and did some rehab and some intense training and stuff. It was pretty much like a pre-season.

"Obviously, I was a bit rusty, but I came back and the legs weren't too bad. I am grateful for what the Wales physios and conditioners have done to get me in shape.

"It is exciting for the rest of the season. We have a good run-in with the Scarlets and hopefully a summer tour of South Africa.

"We want to challenge ourselves against one of the best teams in the world, so there is a lot to play for."
