Engelbrecht blow for Kings

The Southern Kings have been dealt a cruel blow with the news that star loose forward Jacques Engelbrecht is out of the game against the Highlanders on Saturday.

It was confirmed on Monday that he suffered a bad sprain in the 49th minute of the record 10-72 loss to the Waratahs at the weekend.

Director of Rugby, Alan Solomons said that Engelbrecht had been for X-rays for his right ankle over the weekend.

They came back clear, but Engelbrecht need to rest the ankle and as such would not be eligible for selection.

Solomons said Sergeal Petersen, who has flown out to join the South African Under-20 team on Sunday, sustained a grade two tear to his right hamstring during the match against the Waratahs, and was expected to be out for around three to four weeks.
