Glasgow v Edinburgh rained out

Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh's Pro12 clash has been postponed after a pitch inspection at Scotstoun.

Heavy rain meant the pitch was too waterlogged for the game to go ahead, meaning the game will be rescheduled, although a date has not been agreed yet.

The match doubles as the second leg of the 1872 Cup, with Warriors leading 20-16 after their win at Murrayfield on Boxing Day.

Glasgow remain fourth in the Pro12, with Edinburgh three places behind and Scotland scrumhalf Greig Laidlaw admitted it was the right decision to postpone the clash.

"It's extremely disappointing for everyone concerned as we were looking forward to it," said the Edinburgh No.9.

"But the pitch is in a pretty bad state and even to get drop-outs 10 yards was going to be difficult.

"We have two big Heineken Cup games coming up and we turn our attentions to them."
