Griquas with plenty to ponder

Griquas were left with much to ponder after going down to the Blue Bulls in Kimberley on Saturday.

The defeat leaves Griquas at the foot of the Currie Cup standings with just one win from their eight matches this season, a full six log points behind the Bulls.

The Griquas will particularly need to question why they could not carry their advantage from the scrums over to other facets of their game plan against the Bulls.

The Kimberley side now have to start planning for the looming promotion and relegation matches, which now seemed like a certainty.

"We are very disappointed. We did very well in the scrums but we couldn't use that momentum elsewhere on the field," Griquas coach Pote Human said.

Their next match is against local rivals the Cheetahs next week, and Human admitted that they will need to find some answers pretty quickly if they are to avoid finishing the season in last position.

"We need to go back to the drawing board and figure out what went wrong. We play Free State at home next weekend and it is going to be another tough outing."
