Kings shake it up

The Kings have made wholesale changes to their starting XV for their final Super Rugby clash with the Sharks in Durban.

They have made 12 changes to the side that lost to the Stormers in Port Elizabeth last week with six changes umongst the backs and the forwards.

With the play-off matches against the Lions on the not too distant horizon it seems that the Kings coaching staff have decided that those games are far more important than their last Super Rugby game. A number of their top players including Andries Strauss, Ronnie Cooke and Demetri Catrakilis have been left out of the squad.

Siviwe Soyizwapi, Hadleigh Parkes and Waylon Murray come into the starting XV after not being involved in their fixture against the Stormers. Nicolas Vergallo, George Whitehead and Shane Gates are the other players coming into the starting line-up.

Amongst the forwards; Mpho Mbiyozo comes into the starting XV from not featuring for a lot of the season. Charl du Plessis, Hannes Franklin, Steven Sykes and Devon Oosthuizen come into the side after featuring on the bench last week.

South Africa Under-20 loose forward Aidon Davis gets a shot at Super Rugby after he has been selected to sit on the bench for the Port Elizabeth based side.
