Kiwi reveals touching try tribute

Exeter Chiefs' veteran New Zealand prop Chris Budgen revealed that his try in their 33-9 Premiership victory over Worcester was dedicated to his premature twin sons who died recently and were buried on Thursday.

The 39-year-old – whose try helped Exeter end a three game losing run – pointed to the sky after touching down and elucidated in why he had done so on Sunday.

"That was for the boys," said Budgen.

"I told my wife [Tina] and my son [Dylan] that I would try and do something.

"We had the boys' funerals on Thursday and the one promise I made was that I would try and score for them, so when I got that ball today there was no way I was going to stop."

Victory for Exeter took them onto 20 points after eight matches, well away from the relegation zone.
