Mujati is no Saint

Zimbabwean-born Springbok prop Brian Mujati is set to leave English Premiership club Northampton Saints at the end of the season to join Racing Metro in Paris.

The 28-year-old tighthead, whose eligibility for the Springboks has recently been the matter of some dispute, is reportedly looking for a new challenge so has decided not to take the option of a third year in his contract with the Saints.

The news comes as something of a double front row blow for Northampton, with Tongan loosehead Soane Tonga'uiha still set to decide on whether he will join Mujati in France.

As a result Saints coach Jim Mallinder has targeted Egland prop Alex Corbesiero, whose contract with London Irish expires at the end of the season, as a possible replacement.

Mujati's place is expected to be filled by the versatile Phil Doran-Jones, although he will have to be convinced to stay at Franklin's Gardens as his contract also expires at the end of the season and there are a number of clubs after his signature.
