Niggles hampering star Irish duo

Brian O'Driscoll and Peter O'Mahony are Ireland’s only injury concerns ahead of next weekend’s Six Nations clash with Italy in Dublin.

Ireland's record caps holder O'Driscoll had some calf cramping towards the end of the game against England on Saturday but has been very focused on his recovery and will be further assessed over the coming week.

Flank O'Mahony, meanwhile, has a hamstring strain and will be monitored by the medical team over the course of the coming week.

No other player sustained any injury of note. The matchday squad will assemble on Wednesday for a two-day camp in Belfast.

Eager to bounce back from the 10-13 Twickenham defeat as the focus switches to the March 8 date with Italy, Ireland captain Paul O'Connell said: "Unfortunately it’s a two-week turnaround to the next game.

"After a game like that you just want to go out and play the following week and erase it from your mind. We're at camp [this week] in Belfast and we'll review the game and plan for Italy."
