Give it a break

Rassie Erasmus feels it is time to give Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer a break.

Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer is not everybody's cup of tea, with criticism of his selections and game plan rife.

However, Rassie Erasmus, the General Manager: High Performance Teams at the South African Rugby Union, stepped into the breach for the Bok mentor.

Answering fans' questions on the SARU website, Erasmus said it is time to give Meyer a break.

Reader's question: When r we gonna realise our bok game plan is outdated. We will never beat NZ unless we totally dominate up front! From Holzie

Rassie Erasmus's answer: Consider that we were 4th on the world rankings when Heyneke took over less the a year ago and we are now second. We must just give the coach time to prove himself. We are catching up! Need I remind you that we manage to beat England at Twickenham last year and the All Blacks did not.
