It is 'Prof White'

Jake White has been recognised as an Adjunct Professor by the University of Canberra.

The University said they are keen to use his expert rugby knowledge for the betterment of their institution.

Having started his career as a teacher and guided countless young players in their professional lives since as a coach, White makes a good fit for UC as they look to make a big impact on the Australian sporting scene.

For the University of Canberra, White's involvement will boost their ability to provide up-to-date information on professional sports around the world.

His contribution to the Faculty will include offering his services as a visiting lecturer, course/unit development of sport coaching and leadership/management units, technical expertise with regard to sport hub design and operations, networking within the Rugby community, and the recruitment of international students for UC.

White said he was pleased to be given the position with the University and that both the Brumbies and UC stood to benefit from the extended partnership.

"I'm in constant contact with parents of talented players from around the world looking to get their sons and daughters to Canberra to get involved with the Brumbies rugby program," White said.

"It's exciting for me that I can recommend some of these international students to the University and that there is such a quality pathway for people trying to get to Canberra to follow.

"UC is working hard to become an Australian leader in sport, we've see that through their commitment to the new Brumbies Rugby Training Centre and the corporate support they've shown not only to us, but also to teams like Canberra United.

"It's a pleasure to be involved with the University and I look forward to working with them for positive sporting outcomes in the future."

University of Canberra Vice-Chancellor Professor Stephen Parker said he was delighted Jake White had been made an adjunct professor.

"It is fantastic to be able to call upon the expertise of a coach of Jake White's calibre," Professor Parker said.

"We pride ourselves on offering degrees that incorporate professional skills, on delivering applied, industry-relevant research and on having extensive connections within the sporting community. Jake White can help enhance all of this.

"This demonstrates how our teaching and research benefit from our partnership with the University of Canberra Brumbies.

"And with plans progressing for an innovative sports hub on campus, Jake's insights are invaluable."
