Matfield's shadow

Heyneke Meyer believes that Andries Bekker took the first step to moving out of Victor Matfield's shadow on Saturday.

The lanky lock dominated the line-outs in his first Test start in more than two years against Argentina at Newlands and Meyer was full of praise for his efforts in the Boks' Rugby Championship opener.

"I think he [Bekker] had a great all-round game, he needs to move out of the shadow of Victor [Matfield] now and it was the first step tonight in the right direction," he said.
