Victor Matfield has returned to captain the Springbok set-up for the first time since 2011.

The legendary forward will lead them against a World XV at Newlands on Saturday in the absence of the injured Jean de Villiers.

Coach Heyneke Meyer says Matfield's return is like having a coach on the field.
